FILOSCOZIA®, TECHNOLOGY AND EXPERIMENTAL FASHION AT THE FIT IN MILAN

“The Future of Fashion“, ran the title of the show held on 29 May 2013 on the Bovisa Campus of Milan Polytechnic.
The event concluded with the experimental training programme, “FIT in Milan“ , which for the past two years has involved students of the School of Design at Milan Polytechnic and of New York’s Fashion Institute.
Thermoforming, computer graphics, industrial design: technology was the central focus of academic research, which blossomed in the stitching, textures and original cuts of ever-popular yarns such as Filoscozia®.
Lisa Feuerherm is Director of the FIT programme in Milan: “The students learn many techniques, especially in the knitwear sector, thanks to electronic machines,“ she explains, “They learn how to used the computer to design for the machines; many aspects of this work involve new technologies“.
Filoscozia® has supported this training project and it has brought about the creation of breath-taking articles by Catherine Quirk, Sydney Roark and Kourtney Hankins - all of them experimentations and each one of them could indicate the future direction of fashion!
